Many types of cancer in cats and dogs can metastasize (spread) to other places in the body. The lungs are a common location for metastases. Radiographs of the thoracic (chest) cavity can be taken to look for these metastases. Generally, three views are taken, right and left lateral and ventrodorsal, to best evaluate the lungs. This is important information for any cancer patient to help determine the best treatment and prognosis.
