Tui Na

Tui Na is one of 5 branches of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). The 5 branches are acupuncture, herbs, nutrition, exercise and tui na.  Tui means push and na means pull or lift up.  It is a form of medicine that has been in existence for over 3000 years.  It consists of multiple techniques to touch, massage or manipulate skin, underlying tissue, joints and limbs to promote healing and restore balance.  Locally it causes vasodilation thereby increasing circulation and giving pain relief.  Tui na can be useful for a wide variety of medical problems including osteoarthritis, soft tissue injury, intervertebral disc disease, cough, asthma, constipation, anxiety and edema to name a few.
